Me and the Archmage/Sreg started modding directly through XMLs. its not terribly hard.

Also, I would recommend svaing your map as an SC2Components folders. It pretty much saves your maps as a folder rather than a compressed file, exposing all its inner files to you for easy editing. Makes shit much easier to work, specially with an advanced text editor, like Noytepad++

I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to try editing through XML. What would you say the advantages are, over editing through the convention means?

Much the same ones that directly scripting are - faster workflow, all he conveniences of the clipboard, and access to shit not availbale in the editor.

The only shit I wouldnt dare to do by hand are tech requirements/reuqirement nodes and conversations, becuase they are fucking messy to do by hand.
