Default Animation Blending

Can animation blending be done in sc2? (attacking and running at the same time). If so does anyone know how to use it, or if not would making custom animations work?

So far as I am aware, you'd need to make custom animations.

Or do something hilarious like making an upper body turret.

na turret wouldn't work i dont think... i want to have the character say roll (like to dodge) i'm sure that would just look like legs rolling and a body on its feet...

could you maybe go over what the animation triggers exactly do tho? Like blend time, and the rest? I was reading up on them on sc2mapster but the descriptions didn't seem very clear to me, just left me with more questions...

EDIT: or if there are clear descriptions on this site, could you point me to them?

The turret comment was a joke.

Blend time should be obvious; it defines the time spent blending between animation sequences. No blending (or blend time zero) would have shit jumping around, without any smooth transition.

If you want a model to do something it can't do without copious effort spent/wasted working around the problem, modify the model. If it doesn't have the animation you need, add the animation. If you don't know what something does, tinker until you figure it out. That may not be necessary for the GUI functions, given the trigger editor provides descriptions.

Blizzard animations already support blending for most models. Blend from one animation to the next by interpolation.

They however don't support mixing. Don't see how it's possible, there isn't a dope sheet for assigning certain bones to certain splines.

Just use your 3d modeler to get the kind of animation you want. Most rts engines only play animation. Things like IK are too expensive for RTS games.
