Default Help understanding Sc2 .m3 file

Hello fellows from wc3c. Long time no see. I come to you all seeking help on understanding the sc2 model file. If I can understand it, maybe I can make a plugin that exports it to X3D format (a standard for models) and thus every modelling program like Blender and x3vision will be able to use it and to model for Sc2. Further more, because X3D is a free standard, you will be able to import all types of models, no matter from what game into Sc2.

Over my research I found this link:
http://code.google.com/p/libm3/w/list

But it offers little information and I am not sure if it is abandoned, or maybe it's just because I am a newb... I never modelled before in my life, so I will be most happy to see if someone can help me.

Thanks in advance, Flame_Phoenix.

lol, hi. not sure how much help you'll get; it's pretty dead here and I'm not sure we have any one with that knowledge. there's an exporter that's been made out there somewhere, try looking for it.

You are talking about this plugin:
http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/m3-...ds-max/?page=2

It is an importer and exporter for 3dmax - a paid tool which I cannot have. I don't see how breaking that code could help me, but thanks anyway.

yeah i think i am talking about that one. you could have max if you were willing to pirate it but vex doesn't really like that kind of talk and I'm sure you're already aware of that fact. as for whether or not the plugin can help, idk, it has to deal with the models but i know very little about programming and i don't know if what it does have would help you or not. you'd probably have to figure that out by opening it and looking at it. the mapster guy who made it could probably help if he was willing.

The plugin you are talking about already had many masters and owners. Currently they all abandoned the project.I tried to contact what I think is the new owner of the plugin, but it is to early to say anything yet.
