Default [WIP] Light Infantry

This forum feels so empty... So... Let's get it started with something!

Here is a model I am currently working on. It's still a WIP obviously, missing arms and legs... :P

It's a remake of the Light Infantry from Starcraft Ghost. Weapon-wise, I think I will give him a shotgun.

So, any thoughts?

note: As another reference, I looked at the colonist model ingame, concerning polygons and modeling style...

Looking good so far. Though you might want to make him with his arms spread out to the sides, 'else you'll have a huge problem when rigging and animating.

I think a shotgun and/or gauss pistol would make a sensible weapon. As far as assault rifles go, the gauss rifle used by Marines is too heavy to be wielded without power armor.

Just wondering... how are you going to export it as a model to use it in the editor? Is there already any max-script or something?

ontopic; I think you should redo the triangulating manually. Since some makes look like they are pointed out and some inwards. If you don't understand i can paint it for you (i would probably not either understand).

But so far it looks really good except i have never really liked those bulky necks.

Argh, totally forgot to update this... >.<

So, yeah... Modelwise, it's further already, but still not quite there yet.
Also, gave him a shotgun ^^

Though, sadly I have no time right now for this, as I have to work on a book for school, so yeah... <.<

edit: Oh, and shadow killer, I know what you mean, but have yet to look into it.

Considering it's meant for Sc2, I don't think it's too low polied... Maybe the gun could use some detailing though...

It seems good thus far, i'd like to see it textured...

it'll be good in wc3, but not in sc2.
